DESIGN ATTRIBUTES
The cornerstone reference for Unsung Weavers’ soft architectural cuts is the structured cloaks that shepherds traditionally wore throughout the lands of the Mediterranean. These testaments to humanistic design can be described as something between a garment and a hut you carry with you that holds the capacity to bless and protect. Every garment is entirely hand-stitched, designed using a unique pattern developed in-house from utilitarian apparel archetypes. Keynote elements are our oversized fit, limited tailoring and raw un-hemmed edges.
EMBROIDERY
All our embroidery is done by hand in our Athenian studio using traditional stitchwork as a form of contemporary expression. A vocabulary of different stitches is employed to create abstract geometric patterns or more figurative depictions of flowers, stars, beasts and hybrids of the imagination.
