CARE

By following these care instructions, you can cherish your handwoven woolen piece for years to come and help preserve its natural beauty and quality.

WEARING THE COAT

Through wearing, the coat will gradually “break in” and soften. Avoid overstreching as it could cause tearing and might damage handstiched seams.

AVOID FREQUENT WASHING

Woolen felted coats are naturally resistant to dirt, odors and rain. To refresh it after use in a smoky place, airing it and exposing it in the sun for a few hours, is enough. If needed, you can wash it in luke-warm water using a natural detergent. Avoid washing your coat frequently as excessive exposure to water can damage the embroideries and lead to overall loss of shape. Never wash with hot water, fabric is 100% natural wool and will shrink.

DRY CLEANING

To ensure the longevity and preservation of your handwoven woolen coat, professional dry cleaning as the primary cleaning method is recommended. Inform the dry cleaner about the delicate nature of the fabric.

SPOT CLEANING

In case of minor stains or spills, gently blot the affected area with a clean, dry cloth or a paper towel to absorb as much moisture as possible. Avoid rubbing, as it may cause the stain to set.

USE A GARMENT BRUSH

Regularly brush your coat with a soft garment brush or lint roller to remove surface dust and lint. Brush in the direction of the fabric's nap to maintain its appearance.

STEAM REFRESHING

If your coat has developed wrinkles or needs freshening up, consider using a professional garment steamer. Keep the steamer at a safe distance to prevent direct contact with the fabric.

AVOID HEAVY PRESSURE

Be cautious not to place heavy objects on your coat for an extended period to prevent stretching or distortion of the fabric.

REPAIR MINOR DAMAGE

If you notice loose threads or small holes, address them promptly by taking your coat to a professional tailor for repairs. Prevent minor issues from becoming major.

SEASONAL CLEANING

At the end of the winter season, before storing your coat for an extended period, have it professionally cleaned to remove any hidden stains or odors.

STORING

Store it in a breathable garment bag or cedar-lined closet. Avoid using plastic bags, as they can trap moisture.
